New boundaries should be drawn

2

Number of councillors for All Saints and Park are unbalanced compared to Northbourne and Ladygrove wards. Additional to this, it’s unlikely that the resident numbers of those areas remains the same considering that there is chance that new dwellings have been built in those wards since the proposal was draw up.

3

It look like number of councillors for All Saints and Park is not properly balanced compared to Northbourne and Ladygrove wards. There is a.massive amount of new properties being built in those areas, which will need better representation.

4

I would have liked the Harwell area of GWP and all of valley park included in this review. Didcot town council are already set up as a town council. Harwell Parish council are not set up in this way

5

I believe the number of councillors in ward needs to be more equal, with each ward electing the same or similar number of councillors. A boundary review should be undertaken to allow wards to elect single councillors or two councillors as it is not fair that some areas hold a monopoly over others because of how many seats there are in that ward.

6

The wards should be made more equal to give every resident an equal vote and say in the Town Council elections. A idea I have is having 10-12 wards each electing 1-2 councillors. This would ensure every resident has the same number of councillors and everyone has equal voting power.
The wards should not be made large and elect large number of councillors as this dilutes peoples votes and as Didcot Town Council is a local voice and the smallest form of government, each community should be represented with a smaller wards with strong links to their local councillors, rather than vast large wards with local voices being lost.

7

The Ladygrove ward seems to have too many compared to the Park Ward

8

It’s too early to make these changes as both Ladygrove and All Saints are undergoing huge development. The number of councillors may not be representative of the final number of electorates.

9

Make the wards similar sizes rather than based on population

10

It looks like on average there is 1 councillor for every 1000 electors. I would say based on this very little information that All Saints Ward require 1 more councillor, whereas Ladygrove has 1 in surplus.

And Park Ward requires 2 more to cover the ~5000 electors.

11

Looks like Ladygrove is allocated 1 to many and Park is 1 too few if the assumption is 1 councillor per 1100 population.

12

Makes sense

13

I always believe that boundary of Didcot should be extended to include all of Great Western Park. The residents use services in Didcot but pay council tax to Vale of White Horse.

14

I think that Didcot Town Council wards should be made smaller and have more equal councillor distribution as well as more equal electorates. I believe that DTC being the most local council should have small wards representing individual communities rather than large wards that drown communities in Didcot out.. I think smaller wards would create a more equal voice for every resident and community within Didcot.

Wards should each elect one or two councillors and be of similar size to the ward of Millbrook. I feel that his is an appropriate size ward to represent my community within Didcot, rather than a huge ward like Ladygrove which just dilutes peoples voices.

Elections to Westminster and District/County never have such large wards, as we see in Didcot. These large variations in ward sizes is unfair and disproportionate and means voters in some areas of Didcot have greater voting power than those residents in smaller wards.

Clear sense. Historic ecclesiastical parish boundaries give no validity to the "rotten wards"

The Harwell portion of GWP and the area which will become Valley Park Should be brought into South Oxfordshire and Didcot Town Council.

The review should take into consideration the expansion of various wards and if the number of electorates is going to grow considerably soon

It would be good to see actual work being done in Didcot. Broadway is a total mess. What is the council doing about all the shop closures post Brexit and Covid? Do we really need more pizza places when we don’t have a single healthy eating option in all of Didcot unless you include Nando’s?!

I agree with reviewing the number of electors and councillors. Also reviewing and amending the boundary of Didcot, needs to include all of Great Western Park.

The Harwell part of GWP should be within the DTC boundary and SODC, NOT VoWH!  It's Didcot NOT Harwell.
